In 2022, Cabo Verdean NGOs Projecto Vitó and Biosfera commissioned us to make a documentary (45-min) about their conservation work with seabirds - "Fight for Flight" - and a shorter film on the islands' marine protected areas (26-min) - "Life Beneath the Surface".
Both films are narrated by singer Bárbara Wahnon and feature music by Hernani Almeida. Artist Camila Beirão dos Reis contributed to "Fight for Flight" with beautiful illustrations.
In addition, we edited these 5-min versions for the NGOs' social media and events:
Fight for Flight: Protecting the Seabirds of Cabo Verde
500 years ago, Cabo Verde was a paradise for seabirds. Today, the eight species that nest on the rocky slopes of these tropical islands face major challenges.
From high mountains to remote and deserted islets, we follow Cape Verdean conservation teams on the ground to study and preserve the archipelago's seabird colonies

Cabo Verde: Life Beneath the Surface
In the Atlantic, the islands of Cape Verde are an oasis of marine biodiversity. A sudden rise in the ocean floor creates the perfect environment for diverse organisms, from molluscs and fish to great travellers like humpback whales and sea turtles.
