In 2018 I travelled twice to the island of Pico in the Azores. It was love at first sight.
I was there to assist director Pedro Canavilhas as he made his debut feature film '2351', a documentary that tells the story of mountain guide Renato Goulart.
Renato is on his way to achieving the record of hiking up the steep volcano from which the island takes its name 2351 times - one ascent for every metre that makes up the height of the peak.
Joining Renato's quest - although briefly - was an unforgettable experience. Below are some images I took while catching my breath.
